Beginning in the late 17th century western furniture and luxury designers, particularly in France, produced wares that were direct imitation of Chinese designs. The style was called "Chinoiserie." Today the cycle has come full circle as Chinese manufactures copy those early western designs. Pagodas, stylized bridges, exotic flowers and tropical leaves are all part of the classic technique. Reorient puts it's own spin on the motif with our exclusive Turquoise Chinoiserie design. Gold and red detailed painting pops out against the sumptuousness teal tone of the porcelain. Each piece is intricately hand painted and is truly a unique work of art.
